A magnificent country house within the Greater London borders, The Grims’ Dyke Hotel is an excellent place to style wedding chair covers.
We were delighted to supply 60 white pleated cotton chair covers for a wedding at the venue, and the results were outstanding. A beautiful chair cover arrangement requires a lovely event space, and undoubtedly, the hotel has much to recommend it.
Located just 12 miles from central London, guests will be staggered by the tranquil nature of the setting. The house is the former residence of dramatist W.S. Gilbert - of Gilbert and Sullivan fame - and those in attendance will marvel at the gorgeous period features. Without doubt, the venue is an extraordinary place to introduce chair covers for weddings. On the day, we supplied our customers with 60 kiwi sashes, which complemented the chair covers brilliantly.
It’s not often that wedding venues can be said to be entirely unique, but The Grims’ Dyke Hotel is surely an exception. W.S. Gilbert - who wrote comic operas including H.M.S. Pinafore - spent the last two decades of his life at the former residence. The stunning Music Room and Drawing Room remain intact, so guests can get a real sense of how the dramatist and poet lived his final years. A short distance from the hotel is the lake where Gilbert met his tragic end, suffering a heart attack whilst rescuing a girl from drowning. The incident was referenced in Sir John Betjeman’s 1973 documentary Metro-land. As such, the hotel forms a unique part of London’s suburban history.
